Nevada races:
Congress: Nancy Price
A very familiar presence during 2007, as a fellow volunteer for Obama. She retired from the National Guard as Chief Master Sergeant (24 years) and served 6 years on the Board of Regents in the 1990s (and received special recognition from Common Cause in 1993 for her work in keeping proceedings open and transparent). She is a former Republican.
Lt. Governor: Jessica Sferrazza
Long time city council member known for her hard work and passion for Reno. While people may think the two guys running against her should have an advantage in a year where sentiments run high against currently serving elected officials, Jessica will clearly know what the job entails, and the “corridors” to travel, when she becomes Lt. Governor. As the current President of Nevada Cities and Municipalities, she is deeply prepared and ready to go.
Assembly District 27: Byllie Andrews
Byllie is probably one of the most prepared non-politicians in recent history to aspire to elected office in this state. And, her daily exhibition of round the clock work ethic, combined with her incredible “math” brain and immense curiousity as to the ideas of others, will likely see her stationed to become Speaker of the Assembly in a near future term. Also, never in my life have I seen so many of the peers of a person willing to assist them in whatever current project is underway. A long time educator and community activist (now retired in all those domains, in order to direct full time to legislating), who also knows a thing or two about operating a business, having co founded Rainshadow Charter High School in 2003, she will bring the energy needed to change the direction of this state.
Assembly District 31: Xiomara Rodriguez
Like Nancy Price, Xio was a familiar “face” during the Obama campaign and was elected as a delegate to the national convention that nominated the eventual 44th President of the United States. She was in law enforcement in the military and was a small business owner (a jewelery shop on Wells Ave.). Her passion and concerns are for real and she also knows what it will take to steer Nevada in a new direction. As a true non-politician, outside the old boy network, she like Byllie will be nobody’s puppet.

Isn’t Byllie a little senile to be running?
