Jessica Sferrazza and Dan Gustin take an informative walk with constituents at Pickett Park….

June 29, 2009

Members of the city council have recently scheduled Monday noon walks in various parks, giving constituents an opportunity to talk with them.  Today, Dan Gustin and Jessica Sferrazza walked with several folks and discussed Renown Hospital’s desire to trade Pickett Park for some land they have along the Truckee River.  They want to build a Children’s wing at Pickett Park.  Jessica told those present (all clearly desiring that Pickett Park remain as is) that the park was “B restricted”  (i.e. the land was to be strictly a park) and she wanted it to remain that way.

The term “saverio cine digital works” is something of a puzzle to me, but his explanations did clarify the process to the satisfaction of other visitors present.  (I’m pretty dense when it comes to art processes, lol.)  For information regarding that (and his works in general), go to: http://www.saveriocine.com

John and Teresa Werner add more pieces in the “Werner and Woody” rm at TownHouse

June 20, 2009

I was there yesterday.  (See the article profiling Woodrow Barlettani, posted yesterday.)  Today Teresa pointed out additional pieces I missed seeing yesterday:

And, btw, Woody had many more of his cartoon work on the bed (in addition to what was displayed yesterday.  I gave him a few dollars to help with the room cost and he insisted I take one of the used books he had (in exchange for donations), so I took “A Calvin and Hobbes Collection” by Bill Watterson.  This book is a graphic novel called “Weirdos From Another Planet”.
